Halloween is almost here, and the spooky stories are beginning about ghosts and monsters in our homes. When we think of Halloween, we look back to our childhood days when the thrill of dressing up as a favorite character was only beaten by the candy we received from trick or treating. Now what we are all grown up, we are always looking to make sure the real reasons behind the spooky stories we were told about poltergeists and ghosts haunting are understood. Surprisingly, you can find an HVAC related answer to many of your favorite Halloween stories.

The Loud Screech in your Neighborhood

Let's start with a classic of ghost stories and movies; the disembodied scream echoing around your neighborhood. This sound may be a monster on the loose, or it could be a simple problem with the belts and motor in your HVAC unit. If you hear a screeching sound just before your HVAC unit begins to work, you will usually find you have a problem that we can handle quickly and easily.
