Spooky HVAC Stories

Halloween is almost here, and the spooky stories are beginning about ghosts and monsters in our homes. When we think of Halloween, we look back to our childhood days when the thrill of dressing up as a favorite character was only beaten by the candy we received from trick or treating. Now what we are all grown up, we are always looking to make sure the real reasons behind the spooky stories we were told about poltergeists and ghosts haunting are understood. Surprisingly, you can find an HVAC related answer to many of your favorite Halloween stories.

The Loud Screech in your Neighborhood

Let's start with a classic of ghost stories and movies; the disembodied scream echoing around your neighborhood. This sound may be a monster on the loose, or it could be a simple problem with the belts and motor in your HVAC unit. If you hear a screeching sound just before your HVAC unit begins to work, you will usually find you have a problem that we can handle quickly and easily. When your exterior HVAC unit has a problem, we know it will usually make some strange knocking and screeching sounds to let you know it is having issues.

A Chilly, Haunted Room

When we talk to our friends and family members, we often hear stories about a room in their house that is colder than the rest. A cold, unfriendly room is not one that is necessarily haunted because it could be affected by problems with your HVAC system not working correctly.

A cold room in your home will often be caused by a blocked air filter that does not allow the movement of heated air around your property to be completed correctly. A more serious problem we can help with is a home using an HVAC system that is too small for the square footage of the property it is installed in.

Doors Eerily Close on Their Own

When we are at home waiting for Halloween's arrival, there is nothing more spooky than seeing a door slowly close on its own. You may expect to see a spectral hand move the door, but you may be out of luck if you are looking for ghosts. Instead, you should call out one of our technicians to check if there are any problems with your HVAC system's pressure. We'll also look for a draft that could be pushing the door closed.

Cut back on the scary HVAC stories over Halloween by calling our team of friendly and experienced technicians to address your HVAC concerns speedily.
